How do event lock dates and statuses work?
Event statuses control who can edit the event. Lock settings help prevent last-minute client or guest changes while still allowing staff to make needed updates.
Status meanings
- Active means clients and staff can edit available planning items.
- Pending means only staff should edit the event.
- Locked means only staff should edit the event, usually close to or after the event date.
Automatic lock timing
- Workspace admins can set a lock timing such as a number of days before the event date.
- Templates can also carry lock timing preferences so new events start with the correct workflow.
What locking should not do
- Locking an event should not delete existing answers, song requests, documents, or photos.
- Staff should still be able to review and adjust event details when needed.
