ORCHESTRIS support articles for Guest Requests.

  • Why can’t a guest request songs?

Why can’t a guest request songs?

Why can't a guest request songs?

    Short answer

Guests can request songs only when guest access is enabled, the event is active, and the planning card is both guest-visible and song-enabled.

    What to check

    • Guest requests are turned on for the event.
    • The guest is using the guest link.
    • The card is marked so guests can view it.
    • Song selection is turned on for that card.
    • The event is not locked in a way that blocks guest input.

    Spotify is not required

    • If Spotify search is unavailable, guests should still be able to use manual song entry when the card allows song requests.
    • Manual entries are useful for remixes, private edits, live versions, or songs that do not appear in search.

    What to report

    • Send the event name, card name, role, and whether the Spotify search, manual input, or entire song section is missing.

  • What can a guest do in an event?

What can a guest do in an event?

What can a guest do in an event?

    Short answer

Guests only see guest-enabled event areas, such as allowed planning cards, guest song requests, and photo galleries when those features are enabled for the event.

    Common guest access

    • View guest-visible event information.
    • Request songs on song-enabled guest cards.
    • Heart other guest song requests when guest voting is available.
    • View and download event photos when the gallery is available.

    What guests should not see

    • Workspace admin settings
    • Staff-only tabs
    • Billing
    • Internal documents
    • Cards that are not marked for guest viewing

    If guests cannot participate

    • Confirm guest requests are turned on.
    • Confirm the specific card is guest-visible and song-enabled if the guest is trying to request music.
    • Confirm the event link is the guest link, not a host or staff-only route.

  • How do I turn guest requests on or off?

How do I turn guest requests on or off?

How do I turn guest requests on or off?

    Short answer

Guest requests can be enabled or disabled for an event without deleting requests that were already collected.

    What the switch controls

    • Turning guest requests on should reveal or enable the existing event guest link.
    • Turning guest requests off should hide or disable guest participation without erasing already collected data.

    Why this matters

    • Hosts may want to collect requests early, then turn off guest submissions closer to the event.
    • Staff still need the collected data after guest access is closed.

    Where requests appear

    • Guest song requests should appear in the guest requests area, with top requested songs first and the full request list below.

  • How do guest song hearts and top requests work?

How do guest song hearts and top requests work?

How do guest song hearts and top requests work?

    Short answer

Guests can heart existing song requests so staff can see which songs are most requested without creating duplicate entries for the same song.

    Song hearts

    • A heart counts as another person's request for a song already submitted by someone else.
    • Guests should be able to remove their own heart without removing the original song request.

    Top requests

    • The guest requests area should show the top requested songs first.
    • The full list should remain available below the top requests with sorting options for most requested, artist A-Z, and song A-Z.

    Moderation

    • Staff and workspace admins can use the full request list to decide what fits the event.
    • Requested songs are not automatically guaranteed to be played.

  • How do clients and guests request songs?

How do clients and guests request songs?

How do clients and guests request songs?

    Short answer

Song requests live inside song-enabled planning cards. Users can search Spotify when connected, choose from suggested playlists, or use manual entry when a song is not available through Spotify.

    Where song requests appear

    • Song controls only appear on cards where song selection has been turned on.
    • Selected songs should save directly on the card so the planning flow does not depend on a separate submit button.

    Manual songs

    • Use manual entry for songs that do not appear in Spotify search, special edits, remixes, live versions, or private tracks.
    • Add a link when possible so staff can find the correct version later.

    Guest song voting

    • Guests can see other guest requests where enabled and heart a song to count it as their own request.
    • The guest requests view should show top requested songs first, then the full list with sorting options.
